The Guardian Shadowstone Legend is Angela Aaron's latest book and I am very happy to have her with me today talking about it along with herself.

Also, make sure to check out some of her books with the amazing Jimmy Thomas on it

.1. Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?

Thank you so much for allowing me to visit with you. I assure you, my books are much more exciting than I am, but here goes. I'm a mom and I work full time. My family usually includes one or two exchange students at any given time. This year we will be hosting a young lady from Japan and another from Spain. I have two rescued dogs who are complete babies and I'm looking forward to retiring in a couple of years and moving to Las Vegas where it's warm and sunny. See, I told you…not very exciting. LOL.

2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Ha…spare time? What spare time?  Seriously, though- I love to camp. I spend my summers in Northern Michigan on a beautiful lake. It's my chill out time, however I seem to always be busy with some activity while I'm there. My favorite time is at night, sitting around the bonfire, especially on a full moon night. There is something very magical about that time for me. During the school year, I stay busy taking our exchange student(s) to concerts, museums, sports, etc., and of course trying to find time to write.

3. Where do you get your ideas from?

My ideas come from random places, however I must confess, sitting around the fire on summer nights has inspired a few stories. Sometimes I just dream an idea and have trained myself to write it down immediately so I don't lose it. I always keep a pen and paper or my phone (voice ap handy) by my bed for this. The idea for my story The Fire of Beltane happened one morning as I pulled into work on a very frigid winter day, and I sat in my car not wanting to get out (I don't do cold well) and I thought to myself how nice it would be to have some hero come take me away on an adventure. Right then I quickly wrote down that thought and bam…The Fire of Beltane was born that night. I even included that scene in the beginning of the book.

4. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, which would be your favorite and why?

My favorite story always seems to be the one I am presently working on, however I must admit, The Fire of Beltane holds a special place in my heart. I think it is because it is the first of my stories to venture into the fantasy/immortal hero genre that I am loving to write. I have found my niche and this is the story that led me there.

5. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?

Aside from the one scene from TFOB I just described, my stories are from my imagination. A few of my characters are based on people I know. Aislinn from The Fire of Beltane is a combination of four teachers I know and Ewan from The Guardian is based on one of my neighbors.

6. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?

I still have two more books left in the fantasy romance Shadowstone Legend series, the one I am working on now, The Ghost and the third one called The Fae. After that I don't know where I'll be. I was thinking I might dabble into the shape shifter territory.

7. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?

I like any and all that write in the fantasy romance genre.

8. Who are your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?

My favorite male character is Aedan from The Fire of Beltane. He is so totally alpha. He was a blast to write. My favorite female I is Rebecca from The Guardian. She is a tough cookie. I have to say, I am LOVING Fenora as I write her in my latest, The Ghost. Her journey is going to be amazing.

9. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?

The hardest thing for me about writing is finding the time to sit down and write. I find I savor my quite weekend mornings with coffee and my characters.

10. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?

My advice is simple. Write because you love to write and because you have a passion to tell stories. Don't write because you think you are going to become rich and famous. That is rare.

Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?

My latest release is called The Guardian ~ Shadowstone Legend.  It's a Fantasy Romance full of magic, mystery and sizzle.

Here is a video I did for it.  YouTube Video:  http://youtu.be/WABfPefv0ao

Here is a brief synopsis:

Rebecca Jones receives a puzzling letter from her missing mother imploring her to travel to Scotland and find the Guardian. Along with the letter came an unusual necklace, which Rebecca assumed was a gift for her thirtieth birthday.
Coming up empty-handed in her search for her mother, she instead discovers an ancient portrait of a long-ago laird wearing what appears to be the same amulet that came with the letter. This finding sets into motion a chain of events that tests every truth Rebecca believes.
After saving her from certain death, Rebecca is spirited away by a handsome Scotsman, awakened from the past, claiming to be the guardian. Cailen MacKinnon explains to Rebecca that she is descended from a long line of Fae women who possess a powerful talisman, the Shadowstone. He reveals that the Fae are desperate to have the stone returned to their realm. Under Cailen's protection, Rebecca returns to Skye to learn about her lineage and continue the search for her mother.
Armed with a set of instructions in the form of a cryptic poem, the mystical knowledge of a modern-day witch, and the guardian, Rebecca finds herself drawn into a world of magic and ancient lore. Her quest takes several unexpected turns, including the discovery of the fate of Cailen's brother, who, a thousand years earlier, set into motion the events impacting the present, as well as learning the truth about her own father. In the midst of unraveling clues, a powerful love develops between Rebecca and Cailen; however, an ancient prophecy is uncovered that threatens any future she might have with him.
On a cold night filled with uncertainty, the past and present collide as Rebecca, Cailen, and those who have pledged their assistance, confront the danger from another realm. Together, they use all the knowledge and magic at their disposal, to put the worlds right and attempt to bring home those who are missing.

And if you are interested, here is a excerpt from the story (I've kept it clean, but know the story has adult love scenes.)

Excerpt from The Guardian ~ Shadowstone Legend

Rebecca opened the heavy library doors and slipped inside the darkened room. She could see Cailen's silhouette sitting at the desk and stepped toward him cautiously. As she drew close, she could see he was wide-awake, watching her as she approached. He sported a rough growth of beard; she thought looked pretty sexy. His eyes held the tale tell strain of a massive headache, as did his hand, which was rubbing his temple.

            "I brought you some coffee."

"I have not acquired a taste for this drink."

"Maybe you should start. It helps with a hangover."

"If you refer to the morning after a drinking binge, then aye."

Cailen lifted the steaming mug to his lips.

"You look like shit, by the way," Rebecca commented on his disheveled state, "but the beard is nice."

            Cailen half-heartedly smiled.

"So did drinking yourself into oblivion help?"

            "What do you think?"

"I think you're mad I know what transpired with your brother. I think this is the reason you keep pushing me away."

            "You know nothing."

"Why don't you enlighten me, then?"

Cailen just glared at her, a scowl furrowing his brow.

"Cailen, your intentions were honorable. You acted in the best interest of your clan."

"But what of my brother? Did I act in his best interest? Blood comes first, and I failed him. I am not a good person, Rebecca."

            "Yes. Yes, you are."

"Donnae make me a saint. Your assumption that I accepted the role of guardian to atone for not helping my brother is incorrect. My purpose is nothing more than vengeance toward the Fae. My actions are nae noble, only necessary retribution."

"Cailen, the sacrifices you've made in order to ensure the safety of Brynn's bloodline are the epitome of noble. I've seen firsthand the heartbreak you suffered at being displaced, of seeing everything you defended reduced to a pile of stones. I've seen your willingness to protect me, to be taken to Fae with me, to die for me. Those aren't the actions of a spiteful person. Those are the essence of nobility and speak volumes of your loyalty to your brother. You said yourself you wondered if you played the role fate had in store for you. Maybe everything happened the way it was supposed to."

Cailen's face had the most pained expression; it reached right inside her chest and twisted her heart. She sighed. "I'm so sorry I brought up these memories. There's more I wanted to tell you, but it can wait."

            "More? Tell me." Cailen requested.

Rebecca rose and picked up her coffee cup. "It can wait until you feel better."

"Tell me, Rebecca," Cailen demanded in a much firmer tone.

"Not now. Not when you are hung over and pissed." She turned to leave.

Cailen rose from his chair and came around the desk, standing right in front of her, blocking her exit.

"God's blood, Rebecca. Tell me," he bellowed, grabbing her arm to turn her around. Coffee splashed over the edge of the mug.

This moment was the second time in her life Rebecca felt like she was in a Hollywood movie, anticipating the action of the scene. The first time was when she first walked into John's pub, and she knew all eyes would be upon her, and now as Cailen's stormy eyes bore right into her. She knew he would kiss her the instant he grabbed her arm. His whole body exuded sexual tension. He was rigid with frustration on so many levels, and her reluctance to speak of what she saw in the stone only added to his already pent-up rage. He had reached the end of some self-imposed limit, and now crossed over that invisible barrier.

His lips slammed down on hers with such heat and desperation, the intensity stunned her. And just like the first time he had grabbed her and kissed her to keep the Fae from seeing her, denying him was not an option. He ripped the coffee mug from her grasp, dropping it on the desk with no regard for the liquid sloshing over the sides. His arms encircled her, pulling her tight against him. He tasted of Scotch and coffee and unleashed fury that rolled off him in waves she could not resist. Every part of him was hard with need as he backed her up against the desk, moving between her thighs, grinding his hips against her.

His kiss was hot and passionate and left fiery trails along her jaw and neck. His tongue demanded entrance to her mouth, tasting, exploring…claiming. His hands roamed the length of her, stroking and caressing as if reacquainting themselves with something that had been lost.

Everywhere he touched, she burned with total surrender, and she would

have capitulated right then and there to anything he wanted of her. However, through her passion-induced haze, Rebecca became aware that Cailen stiffened, and his movements ceased as the voices of Ewan and Fenora reached them. They entered the library, unaware of what was transpiring.

            "Oh," Fenora exclaimed.

Everything froze in that awkward instant, until Cailen stepped back. Regret washed over his features like a veil falling into place. He took another step back, allowing her room to scoot off the desk. She discreetly straightened her shirt and returned her gaze to Cailen.

"Don't do this," she whispered, knowing exactly what he was about to do. He took another step back, increasing the space between them.

            "Don't."

Cailen glanced back over his shoulder at Ewan and Fenora who were making a hasty retreat. He spun his head back toward her, his eyes boring deep into her.

"I let my need overshadow reason," he gave her an apology of sorts.

"Oh, Jesus, Cailen. Cut the self-sacrificing crap. I was just as caught up in the moment as you. Twice you've done this to me. Twice you've retreated from me. Don't let this happen again. You can't do this to me." Her voice fell away. "Please don't do this to me. Whatever it is that makes you pull away from me, tell me."

            Cailen turned away from her.

            "Don't walk out of here."

Ignoring her plea, Cailen strode to the door and walked out of the library.

The Love Gov. by Eden Connor

I am very happy to have Eden Connor talking with us today about her latest book "The Love Gov" along with more about herself.

1. Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?
I’m fifty-five, southern born. Raised in North Carolina.  Attended college in South Carolina, married a local boy. Raised two kids to adulthood. After my mother died, I gravitated to reading romances after a lifetime of thrillers, mysteries, and classics. I’ve worked retail management, been a photographer, and a furniture re-finisher.

2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I spend way too much time on social media. Does that count as a hobby? I’m also addicted to baseball and reading current events.

3. Where do you get your ideas from?
A lot of them come from my reading of current events. I’ll read a story and think, “What if...” and then, I’m off to the races.

4. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, which would be your favorite and why?

I love them all for different reasons. My current series, The ‘Cuda Confessions, is centered around hot rods and racing. So, I’m revisiting my youth, because for a teenager growing up in Concord, North Carolina, cars were king. I’m having a blast writing this one, so right now, it’s my favorite.

5. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?
There’s a bit of my life in every story I write.

6. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?
If I stray out of romance, I’d probably write thrillers.

7. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?
I love my peers: Kaia Bennet, Harper Miller, you. Zoe York and even though I grew tired of waiting for her to put out a few books, I’ll always love Lora Leigh. I think she wrote the first erotic romance I ever red, and I was like, “Day-um.”

8. Who are your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?

I’m partial to Daniel De Marco from Wildly Inappropriate, for the oddest reason. I’m not remotely submissive, so it was a struggle for me to write my first alpha male--who happened to be in to domestic discipline--in a positive light. Once I got into his head, I grew to understand his viewpoint, but it was a lot like learning to eat liver.

9. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?

Ass in the seat, hands on the keyboard...attention on the screen. I swear to God, I have Adult Onset Attention Deficit Disorder. :/

10. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?

Get feedback from strangers! It’s gonna hurt, but you’ll be a better writer for it.

Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?

The ‘Cuda Confessions is a series about growing up, learning who to love and who to trust, and where a young woman fits into the world. It was written initially as a protest about all the finger-wagging I saw, done by authors to other authors, shaming them for writing some tropes. I was like, “Aw, really? Some folks just need to get over themselves already. Here’s some stepbrother porn for y’all.” The series has been a huge success.

But... I’m looking forward to finishing the last book in that series, so I can move to the next project.

That one is called The Love Gov, another one that sprang to mind when reading the local paper. In all the hoopla over same sex marriage, a story sprang to life inside my mind, complete with tag line:

There’s nothing partisan about this candidate’s sex life.
Ben Collins is running for governor of South Carolina. He has an ulterior motive that has little to do with politics and everything to do with love. He’s going after the one who got away—Evony Millwood, the woman who just got engaged to his opponent. He's determined to run the state with a clean conscience, a balance sheet in the black, and Evony by his side.

But all the dirt that Ben's opponents will sling is dirt Evony buried with her own hands. Can Ben’s former lover and business partner keep a lid on her misdeeds or will the brewing storm sweep aide their last chance at love?

“Dessert, darling?” Keelan patted his lips with the linen napkin.

I shook my head. “No. I want a piece of cheesecake in the worst way, but it’s not worth the added miles on my morning jog.”

“Your father called. He’s going to join us for coffee, if that’s all right with you.”

I couldn’t drink coffee this time of night. Keelan knew that, but I nodded. I’d have to endure more endless campaign talk, but with any luck, Kee would break things off at a decent hour. I had an early class the next day.

Keelan stood when my father wound his way toward us through the close-set restaurant tables. “George, so nice of you to join us.”

“Honored to be asked, Keelan.” Dad bent to kiss my cheek before the men shook hands. “Evony. You’re looking beautiful tonight.”

Because Kee had made it sound like Dad asked to come, and not the other way around, my bullshit meter revved into high gear.

Dad took a seat, but to my surprise, he didn’t lead with his favorite topic, Keelan’s campaign for governor. In fact, he didn’t say a word.

Keelan cleared his throat. “You know I’m an old-fashioned man, Evony.”

Was he looking to win a prize for understatement of the year? I loved the man, but… Gotta put my tough week aside. He’s really trying. The campaign had already put stress on our relationship. I worked long hours, hoping for tenure at the University of South Carolina. We just couldn’t seem to make time for each other. This dinner was the first time I’d seen the man in days. We aren’t kids. Time spent apart isn’t going to kill us.

Keelan reached into his jacket. Dad folded his hands on top of the linen tablecloth, leaning forward slightly. My gut clenched as I looked from one man to the other.

“Mr. Millwood, you’ve been my closest friend and advisor for years. I respect you more than any man I know. So, I’m sweating bullets here, but I’d like your permission to ask for your daughter’s hand in marriage.”

For fuck’s sake. I’m nearly forty-two. There’s old fashioned and then there’s archaic.

My father beamed. “Took you long enough, son. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather see Evony settle down with, Keelan.”

Kee pulled his hand free. I stared at the box, admiring the robin’s egg blue. The crisp black logo sent my pulse racing. “Evony, I love you, darling. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” He placed the box in my shaking hands.

Aware that conversation had ceased at the tables around us, I managed to lift the lid and pry the black velvet ring box free. Lifting the lid, I gasped.

The oval-cut solitaire threw off rainbows from the candle in the table center. I tugged the white metal setting free, unable to resist a peek at the inside of the band. The bold ‘950’ stamped beside the elegant Tiffany maker’s mark told me the lacy fretwork around the stone was platinum.

I raised my eyes to Keelan’s. He’ll make a good husband. He’s solid. Dependable. He loves me. “Yes.”

Polite clapping broke out. My father’s laugh seemed a bit too loud. Keelan took the diamond from the box. I extended my left hand. He slid the ring on my finger, holding onto my hand. Leaning over, he pressed a kiss to my lips.

Pulling back, he stared into my eyes. “I’m going to put you in the governor’s mansion as First Lady, Evony, if it’s the last thing I ever do.”

“Hrmph.” My father only cleared his throat before he delivered bad news. I wanted to admire my diamond, but turned my attention to him. “Ben Collins asked Perry Gaines to handle his election campaign. He’s planning to run against you for the Democratic nomination.”

Oh, shit. He can’t do that. The press will go digging. Daddy will go digging. Ben has no idea what he's walking into.

Thanks to me.

The Love Gov will be out in late October

Renewed By Harper Miller

I am very excited to have the amazing Harper Miller with me today on my blog.

If you haven't had the chance to check out Harper and her work, believe me you are really missing out on something really good.

Today we will get to know more about Harper herself as well as her latest book "Renewed" with the cover done by Taria Reed of The Reed Files.

1.    Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?

First thanks for having me Jamallah. I appreciate the opportunity! My name is Harper; I’m a 30 something single lady living in the Big Apple. I write because Mr. Right still isn’t anywhere on the horizon, and book boyfriends make up for my awful dating life.

2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Working out, fitness devotee here. I also read a lot. Me and my Kindle are BFFs.

3. Where do you get your ideas from?

Friends, pictures, movies, sometimes I may read a newspaper article and an idea will come to me. Ideas appear as mini movies playing in my head.

4. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, which would be your favorite and why?

I would have to say my first novel, The Sweetest Taboo: An Unconventional Romance is my favorite. Something about the emotional connection between Rick and Micah hits home. While I love all my couples, they’re my favorite. You never forget your first.

5. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?

LOL, a little of both. There’s always a hit of my personal life interwoven into a storyline. You never know what it may be, but it’s there.

6. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?

Women’s Fiction. I have a story on the horizon. I hope to get it out in the early part of next year. We’ll see. I also have a YA/NA romance on the horizon. I don’t tend to read much within those genres but when an idea is there, you roll with it! I have no fear in writing within different genres other than Erotica. A story is a story and if readers enjoy your writing, they’ll follow.

7. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?

I’m officially a Siobhan Beabhar fan. Recently finished her book, The Devil’s Beating His Wife. I’m now reading another book of hers, Have Mercy. I’m also enjoying Xavier Neal. I read Cinderfella, and it was the kick in the pants I needed to put roots down on my YA/NA story.

8. Who are your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?

Female Micah Foster, Male Rick Thomas. Question three pretty much covered the deets.

9. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?

Carving out time to get some writing done. It’s a lot to juggle writing, promoting, and interacting with your readers. I’m in awe of writers with families who manage to do this! I don’t have a husband or children, and it’s still a challenge.

10. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?

Write what you wish to read and don’t give into trends. Readers can sense what’s authentic and what’s not. Stay true to your brand and your literary style.

Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?

My latest release, Renewed, focuses on the life of Tanya Hahn, a young woman who is trying to move on after finding out her husband cheated on her. Creating Tanya was interesting for sure. I tried to tap into feelings of a woman betrayed, a woman scorned, a woman emotionally vulnerable and often wishy-washy. She was a challenge to write.

Events take an interesting turn when Tanya crosses paths with Kenji Matsumura at one of the world’s busiest airports. Kenji introduces Tanya to some things proving, all it takes is the right man to bring out the kink.

Excerpt:

© Harper Miller 2015

brwngrltrvler: I’m not in NYC at the moment. I’m overseas, for work.

JapKenDoll: Nice! Your passport is getting a workout. That’s right, you did say it was late where you are. Where’d your travels take you?

brwngrltrvler: Why are you asking? You plan on flying all the way from New York, Superman? I’m in London.

There’s a long pause.

JapKenDoll: Good thing I just got my cape back from the dry cleaners. :) Tanya, I kid you not, I’m in Paris for work. It’s Fashion Week, which is a pretty big deal in my industry. I realize this is going to sound crazy, and you’ll probably say no, but I’d like to meet you. I fly out of De Gaulle with a layover at Heathrow for about an hour tomorrow. We can grab a cup of coffee as friends.

Well, that explains him checking into a hotel. Friends. Hmm, friends. Well, Kenji said he was transparent, but he doesn’t want to be just friends; I am sure of it. We were chatting via a kink-centric website. This is where people went for hookups. I’m sure he wanted something, something I most likely couldn’t give him.

brwngrltrvler: That’s a bad idea, Kenji.

JapKenDoll: Better to meet in London than New York, right? Afterward, you go off in your direction, I go in mine, and we never have to see each other again. Humor me. Have coffee with a man you’ll never see again. :)

I know it’s a bad idea, everything in my being is screaming it’s a bad idea. I’m emotional, I’m raw, I’m . . . stupid.

brwngrltrvler: What time?

Yes, incredibly stupid.

Excerpt

It was nearly quarter to eleven and they were both curled up in a single armchair by the crackling fire with snifters of cognac.

“A film?”

“Yes. Of both of us. Somewhere more comfortable, you said?”

She had discarded the towel around her head. Her hair was now dry and snapped back to their natural curls.

“A girl after my heart. Here on the couch or upstairs?” He tested the waters.

She knew that. This wonderful masculine-to-hell man still did his best not to put a foot wrong, despite the fire she could see roaring in his eyes.

He still let her do the rowing.

Shana set her snifter on the floor, uncurled from his lap and skipped up the stairs leading to the bedroom.

“To the chase, predator!”

“Wait till I sink my fangs in you!”

She looked over her shoulder and saw him, not running or skipping, but bent over and taking the stairs in slow precise feline moves, muscles rippling, a stalking predator.

In the bedroom, they locked eyes, chests heaving. Their eyes started making love while they simply stood there, close, and breathed each other in.

How wrong she’d been about him. Seeing him through Alyssa’s interpretations and experiences with him. Roman and Alyssa would never work. She’d felt that all along but given her thoughts the benefit of doubt – for Alyssa’s sake. But now she wanted him, craved abandoned sex with him, instead of the talk they’d come here for.

Well, their feelings did the talking, right?

He was so beautiful. She could spend an hour just looking into those intense blue eyes, touching the lithe muscular frame, grabbing the collar-length hair, kissing that smile that hitched up one corner of his mouth. Feeding her eyes on the planes of his clear-cut features, licking that sweet gap between his upper front teeth. Making love to him was pure magic. Magic that verged on insanity. Yes, she found him… special.

She had connected to him back in Stjärnblomma. Or was it that night outside La Scala? In the limousine as he dropped his mobile on her lap? As Lars picked it up and threw it out the window of the car and they roared with laughter about the mad stalker in the making? Not really. At least not consciously.

She’d still kept her wall up then.

The sparks started flying when he’d boldly lifted her off the staircase and spun her around and reminded her of when she was a little girl and Pappa would be there, big as a mountain and stronger than the whole world, saying, Come on, come on, I’ll catch you! and she flew down the stairs into his arms to be swirled around by him, safe and flooded with joy. Once again, Pappa! And she would skip up the stairs and come flying down them again into his outstretched arms. Once again, Pappa…

She now felt that her happiness, as a woman, ever since Edward demolished that womanhood, was dependent on knowing Roman better.

Whatever she’d said when Roman put her back on her feet that fateful afternoon in Stjärnblomma, said to him and Alyssa about sorting things out, had been a mask born of her breeding. Bad form was not a Lindqvist thing. Absolutely taboo, despite Pappa’s worldwide reputation for being a cut and chiselled rogue. But something deep inside her, something she had yet to define, had drawn her to Roman even as she fled upstairs that afternoon to control her puzzling emotions.

And when he then kissed her and told her: One just did with no more than…

Christ.

She now felt that powerful draw again, deep inside her, without being able to put a name to it. Transgressions, just like Alyssa’s obsession with the man?

“Kiss me, my Roman.” She stepped forward, placed her palms on her cheeks,  and pulled his head to her face.

He looked at her as if to say: I thought you’d never ask, lost in your own thoughts. “My prey?”

“Whatever and however you want it, Castell. Just kiss me.”

His mouth claimed hers. She shivered and moaned. She desired him.

She craved him deep inside, burned to offer him all of her womanhood. At once. Before she panicked and took to flight.

He groaned deep and low from his chest. The sound made her core tug at her. She didn't let any thoughts into her mind about what he would do next. All she cared about this very moment was to savour his taste in her mouth again. Savour the thought of his glorious penis invading the most secret parts of her. The taste of every bit of him.

He gripped her head in his palms, and shot his tongue to the roof of her mouth.

It was just as hot and sweet as she remembered from their crazy shower antics. She was pooling. Her core was catching at her. Clenching in rhythms.

He stopped.

“Your lips are like smooth cherries, my Shana.”

His soft low voice was both hoarse and tender. Their eyes linked in their chains. She could almost feel the thrill of satisfaction that coursed through him while he watched his catch surrendering, dying in weak perpetual spasms.

Her nipples, pressed against the naked marble of his chest, swelled with tingling sparks and went stiff and hard. She felt her breasts fill with blood and get larger, throbbing.

She opened her mouth to accept his tongue again.

He pressed it once more against the roof of her mouth, seemed to devour the soft wetness, and skimmed the insides of her cheeks and back out to her lips. His hands held her head like a vice, as if he'd never let it go.

She told him without words: I’d never want you to let me go either. I’d never want you to go, my Roman.

He heard her, she was sure of that. Before, his cock was hard in his pyjama bottoms, but now it was steely, pushing into her silk-clad belly. She smelt his maleness, fierce and ready for conquest. It sent bolts of desire through her body. She wanted him to fuse himself to her, suckle her nipples until they swelled to bursting point. He parted her kimono and slid his fingers into the hot cleft between her legs, and nearly brought her to that endless orgasm again.

She whimpered.

“Oh God, Shana.” He didn’t break their gaze. “Even our locked eyes do it.”

Her voice quaked and rasped. “Our every cell does it, Roman.”

He picked her up and carried her to bed, gently put her on it, bent over her and bit her lower lip tenderly. His mouth left hers, but only by a breath.

Then he told her where he’d like to kiss her next. “Oh, Roman.” A whisper.

He stretched on the bed next to her. Parted her kimono and picked gently on her pelt like someone pulling on blades of grass absent-mindedly, while his eyes remained locked with hers. She was so wet, her kimono might have tell-tale patches where her arse rested on it.

The thought made her hotter.

She kissed him until she was breathless. Oh God, how will it feel to have him kiss her chatte? She sort of knew how he kissed there. Well, knew about how he did it. Had experienced how he kissed chatte. But through Alyssa. The thought of him doing it to her in person…

Don’t bring Alyssa here between us, for God’s sake.

“I want this nice and slow, my Shana. The way you love it, the way you did it to us in the shower.”

He already knew her well. Too well. How come? They hadn’t made love yet. Well, not in the conventional sense. But we seem able to read each other’s minds.

“Roman,” she whispered against his lips.

She claimed his mouth with hers again.

Suddenly, their phones buzzed simultaneously on the dressing table where they’d placed them. Their teeth knocked, grazed as they jerked.

The spell instantly broke.

Shana let out a yelp. Roman swore under his breath. They eyed the phones.

On arrival in Sylt, they’d agreed to time their smartphones to be off for exactly six hours. Quarter of a day. They were both ferocious business beasts with concerns around the globe. They were the doctors of their corporate worlds. The patients yell and push the button, they respond unconditionally.

But it could also be family.

A quarter of a day was gone.

They stared at each other for a moment before he let her go.

"Great bloody timing."

They unfurled from each other. Shana held her kimono to her with one hand.

“Said it, my Roman.”

He went, “Fuck!” at the next ring.

He looked at her as if to ask: Want to ignore it?

She saw the bulge of his erection and imagined it complaining, and then going on strike, shaking angry fists in its confines and gnashing its teeth. Demanding the executive chair and corresponding pay. Frenetic.

Like her sex was.

But she knew that their patients came first in their world. As did family.

She picked her phone up and he did his. Switched them on again.

“Okay. How many?” Roman asked in a tight voice, checking his own phone. “Voicemails, texts, the lot. In total.”

“You first.”

“Seventeen. Mostly Mum... and Barbs – my right hand lady at the office...”

Then she saw him crease his brows, studying his screen. Anger? Surprise?

“Lucky you. Twenty-seven. And which one is puzzling you in yours?”

“A text from Marie. My companion at the La Scala, remember?”

She lifted her shoulders, “Vaguely. Any problems, Roman?” No, please God.

“I don’t think so. All it says is, Have a satisfying weekend. Nothing unusual.”

Thank God. But… “So why look so puzzled, Roman?”

He looked at her. “I ended our relationship. She’s never tried to contact me.”

She nodded. “We. Are. Not. Reachable. Agreed?”

She punched off her mobile and put it back on the dresser. Then started to untie the belt of her kimono.

He was about to do the same with his pyjama bottoms, still holding his phone. His brows creased again.

“Fuck!” he hissed once more.

His penis was now on a full tent-pitched strike with placards and all, she saw, demanding higher wages for the executive chair.

But she ignored that, because he looked concerned. Oh, please no...

“What is it, Roman?” She shrugged the kimono back on, unbelted.

He gave her his phone.

“A message from Alyssa?” Her turn to be puzzled.

She read the text: DON’T THINK I’LL MAKE IT EASY 4 U BOTH OF U

“I bet you have one or two as well, Shana.”

The Fates against them tonight, or bloody what? She picked up her phone again, turned it on and swiped her thumb through it, looking for anything new from Alyssa that she hadn’t seen and deleted. Nothing.

Then she found her. But in a message from Hans-Joachim.

“Jesus Christ,” she told the ceiling, eyes closed, her body twisting about.

Roman yanked the phone off her hand and read the text: SORRY 4INTERRUPT. FRAU LENZ AT UNIVERSITÄTSKLINIKUM HAMBURG-EPPENDORF PLS CALL ME BACK SOONEST BOSS.

For the third time Roman screamed, “Fuck!” Also to the ceiling.

The vision of him blurred. Her knees gave out... and Roman caught her before she hit the floor. He held her in his arms. Like a slumbering child.

“Shana? Shana!”

She blinked at him. “Oh. I’m all right. Just went dizzy and my knees—”

“No, you’re not all right.” He put her back on the bed and propped her with pillows. “Alyssa’s proving to be a serious plague. The biggest mistake of my life.”

Shana heard the fury in his voice. His fists clenched, his breath came out quick and heavy. He had a venomous look on his face that clutched at her.

She placed a hand on his arm. “Roman. She’s in serious trouble. Because of us. She needs me. She needs me immediately.”

His look on her said: The fuck she does.

“She’s being bloody manipulative, Shana. She’s using you. Using your friendship and whatever bonds you share.”

“Please give me the phone back. Got to call Hajo.”

He handed her the phone. “Hit speaker.” He breathed like a draught horse.

“Roman.”

“This involves me as well, Shana, forgotten?”

Shana speed-dialled and hit speaker. Her pulse picked up pace.

Changing Lives by Tracy Kincaid

I am very excited about having Tracy Kincaid with me on my blog talking about her first book to be published by Beau Coup, "Changing Lives" which will be out July 20th and telling us a bit about herself as well.

1.
Before we start talking about your book, why don’
t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself? I am a mom to 3 great kids, 2 girls and 1 boy ranging in age (24, 13 and 6) (not recommended ;) ). My husband and I have been married for 17 years this past May. We have a 2 year old Golden Retriever named Buc, who makes an appearance in my next book. I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to South Western Pennsylvania in 2013. I’m still trying to figure out how this weather thing works.

2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
When I’m not writing you will either find me with a book in my hand reading or crafting something. I love to paint ceramics. They are not as easy to find as they were in the 80s. I have an Etsy page that I try to sell things on. I read a lot. Depending on what creative blood is flowing through me at the moment, I can read anywhere from 1 - 5 books a month. If I’m left alone long enough I can sometimes finish a book in one sitting. Especially if it is a really good book that I can’t put down. I read anything from Romance to Syfi to History. I tend to stay away from books about the end of the world or kids killing kids, just not my cup of tea.

3. Where do you get your ideas from?
My debut novel deals with the Titanic. I have always been fascinated by it. I have been to several exhibits. It amazes me what survived the accident. My work in progress has to do with Gettysburg. We went on vacation last summer and I think a ghost came home with me. he has been whispering in my ear the story he wants told. I know it sounds crazy but the idea popped in my head when we were there.

4. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, which would be your favorite and why?
Well, Changing Lives is a debut novel, so right now that is my baby. I have a few others in the works but I think the fact that this is my first one, it’s my favorite. At least for right now.

5. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination? In Changing Lives a lot of Natalie Star is based on my life. The high school stuff is all true, as well as some of the later life stuff. It was all stuff that I knew already, so it made it easier when I was writing some back story for her.

6. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?
That is a good question. I am playing with a murder mystery right now. I have read books on the subject but not very many. An idea popped in my mind while on a drive that took us through the forest. Watching the trees zip by gave me the idea for it. It’s fun trying something different.

7. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?
I have become friends with so many since I started writing. Authors are all so nice and they let you bounce ideas off of them. And they don’t judge you, it’s great. It’s had to choose a favorite, I love them all.

8. Who are your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?
Thomas is my male main character in the book and one of my faves. He goes through so much to get to the love of his life. It takes him a very long time but when he finally does, he will do anything to keep her. Although I love Natalie my main female character I think Lou is my fave. She is your typical best friend know it all and is willing to take a bullet for her friends. I may turn this book into a series and get more into her character. But I’m still debating with myself about it. I guess I literally have a whole ocean of prospects to write about. ;)

9. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
For me it is finding time to sit and do it. Life seems to get in the way sometimes. It’s not easy with family, they always want something. LOL. But when I can sit and just write, it’s the best feeling when the words just flow.

10. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?
Everyone needs to start somewhere. Never let anyone tell you that you are crazy, you already know that ;). If you don’t try then how will you know if you can do it or not? Not everyone will be a best selling author but you wont know until you try.

Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?

Here is my cover for Changing Lives. The cover was revealed on July 1st. I love it. I had a dream one night and the publisher nailed it. The book will be released on Amazon July 20, 2015.

I have a few works in progress now. I write when the voices in my head talk to me. I’m a little more then half way through a story called Freeing Lost Souls. I hope to get it done soon. This one has a Civil War inspired story in it.

Please Visit my links below to keep up with book releases.

Thank you, Jamallah Bergman for the interview

BLURB

What if love - at - first- sight was not the “first - sight” after all? NATALIE STAR is a modern woman, with modern sensibilities. Practical and realistic, she finds herself falling for a man named THOMAS ANDREWS. Thomas is a perfect gentleman, but his love for her seems to be old, solid, staid — the kind that grows after years of love and life together. He speaks in riddles when she asks why he seems to know her so well — they were together in a time she can’t remember yet. Thomas longs to tell Natalie everything he knows about her, about them. But it’s time that is the problem yet. There is a tragedy that they must endure before she can fully accept who they are, and why they are destined to be together. A tragedy that Thomas has been through once, and will go through again to find the piece of his heart that has been missing all these many years. That tragedy is the Titanic…

EXCERPT

I look at him seriously. “No, I don’t want you to go. I enjoy having you here. I’m sorry that I laughed like that; it was rude of me. I told you I would keep an open mind, and I’m trying, but you do realize how crazy it all sounds?” He looks at me with the same sad face. “Yes, I do know how crazy it sounds. Maybe I can find a way to prove it to you. I’m a bit tired, I think I will turn in for the night. I’ll see you in the morning. Good night, Natalie.” I know I can’t sleep knowing he is so sad. I do want to believe him because, God knows, I could use some excitement in my life. And in a way, I do think I’m falling for him. He seems to know about all of the nightmares from my childhood. I’m not sure how.

Golden Shana: The Captive by A P Von K'ory

Today I have  Akinyi Yimbo once again with me talking giving us an excerpt of her latest book "Golden Shana: The Chase" which will be out available soon.

Golden Shana: The Chase

Roman, 28, is cultured, aristocratic, go-to-hell handsome, wealthier than is good for anybody and both generous and nasty with it. He's commander-in-chief of his global concerns, which he built himself from scratch. He fights off women with a stick, but is loyal and devoted to his “reigning queen” and treats her exactly like a queen, although he doesn’t believe in commitment and thinks vanilla is something chefs use in the Queen Mary.

Until he meets Shana, a “man’s woman” who gives men a wide berth. She leaves Roman’s dominant self-control teetering on the brinks of insanity. But what Roman wants, Roman gets, fair or foul. Unfortunately for him, he finds himself wedged between 3 women:

Marie, 24, refuses to accept Roman separating from her for Shana, and she has a sure-fire weapon against Roman that Roman doesn’t have a bullet-proof vest for. But Roman doesn't know that yet.

Alyssa, 33 and Shana’s BFF, has fallen hard for Roman at first sight and believes she has found the Dom of her life. Until she discovers that Roman is only using her as a bridge to cross over to Shana.

Shana, 32, had a horrible experience ten years previously and had since avoided men altogether. For non-committal sex, she has her BFF Alyssa, in an open relationship where Alyssa is free to have any man she fancies - no jealousies, no territorial claims.

A mystery man who calls himself “Phoenix” has arisen from the dead and is after Shana, fair or foul too, and Roman lands in his direct line of fire.

The game of Chase begins…

Excerpt:

[Roman arrives in Geneva only to discover that Alyssa is not the woman he’d seen at the opera house in Milan, the woman he’s after. So he’s prepared to dine and wine Alyssa in the hope of finding information about Shana, whose name he doesn’t even know]

Alyssa gave me the nuggets I wanted in between fits of giggles and sips of wine. I listened with deep chortles rumbling from my chest while I sliced a strip of venison and covered it with wood mushroom tartar. I balanced my morsel gingerly on the fork, for her benefit, then pushed it slowly into my own mouth the minute hers started opening to receive it. Alyssa held her breath for a moment, then blushed. Then recovered.

“Shan is the girlfriend, Roman.” She chewed her own food and went uuummm with closed eyes. Go on, go on, my mind urged her. “Lars, by the way,” she began while spearing her poached peach in tree syrup. She put it in her mouth and went through the uuummm again. My feet were this close to starting the tattoo they’d beaten during lunch with Robert at Bistro Atelier yesterday. The adrenaline was approaching an overdose level again.

“Is he some wife-beater or something?” I coaxed.

She shook her head vigorously while she swallowed. “God forbid, no. They all treat their spouses like goddesses and princes charming. I’m often sinfully envious.”

I’ll be sinfully maniacal in a minute if she doesn’t stop teasing me like this. Giving me the information I was inwardly panting for in tiny drops, for heaven’s sake.

“Jealousy aside, it must be good for you to know Lars treats your girlfriend like a goddess.” I’d expended enough energy for a freight train to keep my legs still. In my quest to find Aphrodite, my impatience was a definite flaw.

She bobbed her head until she could speak. “Oh yes, her too. The whole family treats her like something magical from Outer Universe.”

I’d begun to go off my delicious venison. I’d’ve found it tastier killing Alyssa on the spot. What did Oh yes, her too mean? What family? Give me something to throw at Robert, for fuck’s sake. I already know she’s something magical from Outer bloody Universe!

“What do you mean her too?” I said controlling my irritation. “You make it sound like she’s this Lars’ adored bit on the side.”

Ooops Castell, you idiot! It’s her girlfriend you’re talking about.

I quickly went for the Oscar again. I reached out and placed my palm on her cheek, the pad of my thumb stroking and flicking gently on the lowest tip of her earlobe.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean it to sound… sort of like insulting your girlfriend indirectly.”

Then I put on the face of mock accusation and my sexiest voice:

“It’s all your fault, young lady, you’ve got me thoroughly bothered.”

“Roman.” Like, My sex god. “Anyway, Shan is neither married nor a mistress.”

Oh Christ. I didn’t know whether to go WOOOPPPEEE! or eat Alyssa first – in gratitude. I’ll get her! If Lars was not even a boyfriend to her  mistress, but possibly just an occasional lover, then I was going to win both the war and the battle. Kill him, if necessary. Or be killed by him. I’d made a vow to myself to get her or die trying. Right from the beginning. And in love and war, a whole repertoire of tactics, strategies and methods are allowed…

Except that when I turned sober again, I realized I had as good as nothing on Shan other than that she was unmarried and nobody’s mistress. Somebody’s girlfriend perhaps? Fiancée? Dare I ask Alyssa this question without making her feel that I wasn’t here for her but for Shan? Pride, in all of us, is something that’s always averse to being insulted however much infatuation or raging-mad the lust to have sex with another person was.

Alyssa was burning for me. And she was so lovely in that exotic way of hers, a way no German woman would ever be graced with. I wanted to shag her too, to be honest. But I had to invest more time and work harder for the information I needed – that had priority.

“I’m jealous of her for having you, Alyssa. I’d rather I didn’t share.”

Double entendre. At least to me. My words did something to Alyssa, though, judging from her expression. I’m sure she didn’t get the double – or even triple – meaning. But she reacted as if she actually felt I was some kind of a rival.

Then the expression was gone as suddenly as it had appeared. Only the colour remained on her cheeks.

Think fast!

“You’re irritated about my interest in your friends, Alyssa. Why? If somebody had seen me with a couple of friends and asked about them, I’d have no trouble talking about them. That’s quite normal, isn’t it?”

I saw her shake herself together, gathering her wits about her again, so to speak.

But mean keeps them keen. “So tell me more about you then, Alyssa”

Lame, but it was all I had at that moment.

The waiters came to take our finished course away and served us the tiramisu mascarpone with espresso sherbet.

Alyssa heaved a little sigh in preparation as soon as the waiters left.

“Roman, let’s get one thing clear and then get on with our evening, all right?”

I shrugged like a little boy who’d been told he’d get his new PlayStation but not until next Christmas. I toned that down with a lopsided grin I’d cultivated in front of my bathroom mirror a million times, and a hit of the blue gaze.

She sighed again. “The Lindqvist family… oh shit!,” she hissed the last words.

“Okay,” she continued, rubbing her pretty hands together, like someone about to embark on a manual task. “I mean, Shan likes to remain as private as possible. It’s the basis of our long standing friendship, you know. We’ve been like sisters since we both attended the same private school. I’m as much part of her family as she is part of mine and I gave her my word to keep all matters family private. I honour that, or I wouldn’t be worth much of a best friend, would I now? I love Shan and she loves me.”

“Now you’ve gone and made the two of you a big mystery and therefore more interesting. May I ask which private school that was? I know a woman who also went to private school here in Geneva.” I tried to be as casual about the question as possible, aiming for another Oscar for Eating Tiramisu Style Mascarpone Intently.

“Roman,” she leant over the table, her sexy slit eyes so narrowed as to seem closed. “Didn’t we just agree to get on with our evening?”

A thousand watts of blues, askew smile, palms together like Gandhi. “Alyssa, just the one question. What’s wrong with knowing where my pretty girl went to—”

She was shaking her head as if to say: You’re incorrigible, Roman. But she was smiling. “All right. Ecole Internationale de Genève. End of chapter, verse, and book. Now it’s my turn to question." She ate her mascarpone and waited.

“Okay, ask away.”

“Was it really me you came chasing after in Geneva, as you told me at lunch time?” She stopped eating to concentrate on my body language.

“Definitely you.”

It was the truth. I’d come to Geneva to find Alyssa.

What else could I tell her at this point, that I’m really a serial lover and panting for my next obsession? It was dishonest to pour oil on her fire, but I was a moth and Alyssa was the compass that would lead me to my mesmerizing light. I wasn’t proud of myself for resorting to using another person’s feelings, but it was simply one of those unexplainable things where the good in all of us says: You know this is so wrong, yet the evil side says: It has to be so, you’re supposed to, the end justifies the means.

I gave Alyssa another thousand watts of my blue eyes with a bonus smile that made her chest begin to heave. She’d run into both. My mind weighed cost and benefit of wild lust with Alyssa.

“And here we are, my lovely. We’re going to have an unforgettable Geneva night.”

I had three precious nuggets from Alyssa.

Shan. Lindqvist. Ecole Internationale de Genève.
