1. Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?
Oklahoman resident until further notice. A homemaker and mom by day. A secret agent by night. I like my vodka shaken not stirred.
2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I like to strum my guitar or dance with my daughter to our favorite tunes. I like to go hike on trails or be with good friends.
3. What is your daily routine as far as when you have an idea for your story?
I need to be punished for this. Because I have no routine. If an idea does occur then I run with it. Bad habits I know and I am very guilty.
4. Where do you get your ideas from?
Hiking trails, music, talking with peoples in general, a picture but mainly music.
5. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, what would be your favorite and why?
I would have to say the current story I am working on now. I had to dig deep. I had to go to a place where I don’t like to go but did it anyways. You know there just some things you’d rather not discuss or think about but you do…
6. Tell us something funny about yourself that not a lot of people know about?
I am a true goofball to my very core. I tend to snort when I laugh. It just comes out and it’s embarrassing. Not good when you are trying to be romantic with your significant other.
7. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?
A little of both.
8. Does your ‘muse’ have a name and if so what is his/her name?
Sparky…. My guitar even has a name Beast…
9. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?
Paranormal and Erotica.
10. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?
Julie Garwood, Beatrice Small, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and S.K. Whiteside.
11. Who is your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?
I would have to say my favorite male character is Eramus because he is so patient. Something I lack a lot of at times. Female… I like Raven… She is the level headed one… No matter what situation she is in, she is so level headed. In addition, she takes torture to a new level…
12. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
Personally, it’s the ruts I go through and I have a hard time getting myself out of. Separating myself from the character. Because you become 3 people. 1) Is the writer. 2) The reader. 3) The character.
13. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?
I would say ask yourself how badly do you want to be a writer? Then go for it. Take all critics with a pound of salt. Become one with your pen and paper or computer. Investigate your sources, and make sure you do your own story. Then write, write, write, and write some more. Never make enemies, make friends. Do not burn your bridges because you may need to cross on them one day. You will have good days and you will have bad days. Have support team on your side for those occasions and don’t forget to thank them. Believe in Karma… Do good unto others and it will come back to you.
14. If you hadn’t become a writer, what do you think you would be doing right now?
A super hero, maybe a secret agent code name 005 or maybe Vampire slayer. Lord knows I would not make it as a stripper.
15. What do you like on a man…..briefs, boxer briefs or boxer shorts or nothing at all?
Depends on the extracurricular activity. I prefer commando, leaves very little to the imagination
Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?
It’s a short novella. It’s about good vs. evil. There are lots of bantering, sword fights, lots of twists and turns, and someone goes missing. The next book to come in the near future is Spirit Untamed and it’s the sequel. Coming soon to a bookstore near you.
In a land soaked in the blood of the innocent, Raven must choose between love and destiny. However… There is a price…
Each price is unbearable, yet only one path can she walk. Which will she choose?
Through her youth, Raven learned brutal combat, forcing her body to wield the most savage of weapons.
Destiny will be against the Warriors. There will be no escape.
Axe… Will he gain favor with Raven’s heart or will she beat him at his own game?
Drakekar was a ruthless and tyrannical King. Will his plans succeed or his attempt fail? Will King Drakekar’s pawns win the ultimate battle?
Raven’s experience in fighting came from other soldiers who befriended her. They belonged to other armies, who were on the run and joined the Quest. They taught her well in hand to hand combat and war tactics. They were brutal with her and showed her no mercy; hoping she would give up this lunacy of becoming a fighter. She didn’t care for she knew that in battle there would be no mercy. Her friend Barnebas taught her the arts of sword fighting. He noticed that she favored using two swords instead of a shield in one hand and sword in the other. Her friend didn’t know of her past. Yet, he knew from experience that it wasn’t a good past given her nature of being. He called her “little beast” as an endearment, she fought like one, and no man had ever seen a woman take a beating like her and still got up wanting more. Barnebas and Alec were sent from King Baltazar. They were to spy on the conditions and help Raven. Baltazar sensed Raven not being of royal blood but he accepted her if she were his own niece. But he wanted her for his older son. Barnebas trained Raven, showed her how to out sword, and fight her opponent no matter the circumstances.
“Your size does not matter. There are always weaknesses to every soldier. It is not showing weakness to your enemy or they imprison you.” He yelled at her, “Do you yield, little beast?”
She spat out the blood that was in her mouth and with a wicked grin, “Never!”
Barnebas gave Alec the signal. He immediately took over; he tripped Raven knocking her down to the ground. Alec jumped right on top of her pinning her wrists down not allowing her to move her body gain any freedom.
“Now, my lady, you cannot move.” Barnebas commented from afar.
Alec looked at her with crazed eyes, “how will you escape this outcome? No one on the battlefield will show any compassion and they will prove to be more ruthless than we are being with you.”
She felt angry but in control of herself. With a sudden urge Raven slammed her head against Alec’s nose causing a breakage. It made him lose his concentration; making his eyes water in pain which caused him to release her and in turn gave her the upper hand. With a quick thrust from her legs she managed to push him off. She quickly regained momentum and jumped into a crouch giving him another blow to his privates. Alec grunted in pain going down to his knees, “I was planning on using those later.”
Raven glared at every other warrior present, “I’m sorry to hear that your plans were ruined. Who’s next? Who will be brave enough to spar with me? Who is willing to take me as a challenge?” She stood there staring up at Barnebas, “Remember this, friend, I have no fear of man, only God. What can mortal man do to me?”
Each warrior raised their hands up in surrender with one hand over their privates saying, “Peace be with you.” And under their breaths saying, “Prosperity and longevity to our loins.”
At that instant she threw her weapons to the ground, spat out the blood, went by the river to wash herself.
Since that day forward no one would persuade her to leave. They finally accepted her as a female warrior. She may have been bloodied but she stood her ground with no emotion. The little beast took every beating like a true warrior and fought well. Raven knew the weaknesses of any armor and took her opponent down swiftly without wasting time or energy. Her enemies feared her and her friends respected the hell that came out of her. From the age of fourteen onward she fought like a soldier.
