1. Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?
My name is A.R. Von (also known as Ava to some, Dragon Lady to others-I have an intense love for dragons).
I 'm a 39 year old mother of two entertaining teen boys (as well as a lovely fawn Chihuahua, whom I consider my furry daughter). I'm a wife to a delightfully handsome and amazingly funny man- beast. I'm an avid reader of many genres which include (but are not limited to) erotica, paranormal, ménage, fantasy, YA, some historical and western (have to love a hot cowboy or two here and there). I also love to exercise, listen to music, hike, cook and write.
2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love to exercise, hike, dance, listen to music, read, cook, sing (horribly), paint some crafty things, and dream. When I’m not doing that, I’m spending time with my family, learning about the newest video games my boys are playing and “learning the ropes” of Magic (the card game). I also write reviews for Romance Book Junkies, BTS emag, Satin Sheets Romance and my own blog (A.R. Von DreamZ of Dragons).
3. What is your daily routine as far as when you have an idea for your story?
I always have the music on (full blast actually). I need to have a window near me (open wide on nice days). I enjoy staring out and losing myself; I clear my mind by staring out and losing focus until a thought or idea comes to mind (it does not always work, but it’s fun to see where my mind goes). Oh and I ALWAYS have to write things down first, even if it’s just one sentence. It’s hard for me to motivate myself without something to look at. I guess it helps me stay on track. Make sense? lol
4. Where do you get your ideas from?
Deep within my heart & mind, it’s odd actually. Ideas just come out of nowhere and BAM!
5. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, what would be your favorite and why?
I do not have many “below my belt” just yet. As of this moment, my favorite is the first installment of Wunder. It was so much fun to write and it’s just as much fun to read. I feel the way I wrote it puts the reader right in Wunder’s shoes and they get to experience ALL that she does.
6. Tell us something funny about yourself that not a lot of people know about?
I once wanted to be a female wrestler (I know you’re laughing). Not the sumo type, just a kick butt fighter that no one would mess with. I’d rule the ring! Wahahaha…
7. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?
Wunder is a majority from my imagination with one aspect taken from my life experiences and that’s the sex scenes. So passionate and freeing, like no one else in the world exists but you and your partner, it’s such an amazing feeling.
I also wrote a short for a WOCA anthology (it’s in edits now) it is more “based on a true story” deal and a bit more emotional compared to Wunder. I’m unsure of its release date as of yet, but I’m sure updates will post on the site: http://writingoutchildabuse.wordpress.com/origin/ .
8. Does your ‘muse’ have a name and if so what is his/her name?
LOL- no no names. But I believe I have two of them, one male and one female. Never thought to name them, but now…
9. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?
I like variety; it’s the spice of life. I know for a fact I would not try my hand in historical. I leave that for the experts J
10. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?
Oh geez!! This one is hard! I honestly have so many favorites out there, both indie and the big guns.
11. Who is your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?
Wunder hands down for my favorite female at this point! She’s bad ass, easy on the eyes and someone I can/would look up to if she was out here in the real world.
As for the male character, it’s a toss-up with Lance and Pete. Pete is sexy, smart, strong and did I mention hot? He has a lot going on for himself besides looks that easily make him a favorite. But Lance I hold a ton of respect for. He has waited and not given up on the one he loves for decades. He’s kick ass AND raised his daughter on his own. Like I said, it’s a tie for those two.
12. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
When I draw a blank, get stuck and stare at my computer screen at the flicker of the pointer wanting, no needing to strangle it (I’m normally not a violent person). Then there’s the actual start or beginning to a story, however you want to look at it. I think of an idea and most of the times I do not get to write it down. So I sit and think… and think… Eventually it comes back to me, but sometimes it can take weeks! UGH
And next to that is criticism from those that have only heard about my story and have not read it. I’m a strong believer in listening to word of mouth, but not always believing. I like to find things out for myself. It helps me learn and I’m a giant sponge! Besides, what stinks for one person, might just end up being another’s favorite, you know?
13. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?
I would pass on advice that was given to me and well taken which is to ALWAYS listen to your characters. They’ll never steer you wrong. Also, NEVER give up!
14. If you hadn’t become a writer, what do you think you would be doing right now?
If I was not writing and doing what I one thing I’ve dreamed of doing. I’d probably be in the Army, Navy or Marines. Most likely a drill Sargent, training many to be their very best. Or in reality, I’d be bartending like I’ve done for over 16 years. One of the best jobs ever!
15. What would be the perfect Romantic getaway?
Private Island, white sand beach, all amenities and no less than a week alone with the one I love :)
Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?
Wunder isn’t your average girl, in fact, she isn’t even an average human. In a world once ravaged by Zombies, she was born amidst the chaos. Where can a girl like her find the man of her delicious dreams? She has an idea and it leads her to the hottest new club in town, where she finds what’s been missing in her life.
Pete has his own secrets to tell, and when they come together, another story unfolds while the sparks fly.
I’m swaying on my feet, looking into his eyes—at a loss for words. Finally, I find my voice. “Please.”
He takes my mouth with such fervour, my heart pounds harder than after I’ve just run for miles. My legs now feel like over cooked noodles. He holds me tighter while exploring every nook and cranny of my mouth and I answer with the same exploration. He’s making silent promises while grinding his hard length against my body. I bravely slide my hand from around his neck, down between us, past his chest to cup him through his tight jeans.
He groans into my mouth and slowly pulls back to gaze at me questionably, “Wunder?”
My eyes are still at half-mast, drooping as if they would close on their own accord. I gave his jean encased cock a firm squeeze, ‘Yes’ in answer to his question.
He takes my hand, tugging it as he walked toward the back of the club.
I go willingly. Oh—and how I go willingly!
