Today I have the wonderful Tiffany Carmouche talking about her book "Becoming Invisible" whose character Dylan is smokin hot!
1. Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?
I am a single mom. I love springtime and traveling and fireflies. I am a hopeless romantic who is waiting for my prince charming to sweep me off my feet…until then I will have to have a love affair with the men in books. Perhaps that is why my suspense novel became a romance.
2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love my daughters. My family is my life. Besides spending time with them and watching them discover their dreams, I love to dance, sing, sculpt and enjoy the outdoors.
3. What is your daily routine as far as when you have an idea for your story?
I have no daily routine. I have a sassy muse that doesn’t like routine. So when I have a muse, I try to write. When I have a deadline, I try to write. Sometimes I actually write on a computer, but often I release my muse in my illegible scribblings in a notebook that I just happen to find or in the ink marks I etch on a napkin with a borrowed pen.
4. Where do you get your ideas from?
Much of The Impostor, A Love Story was based off my experiences in Alaska. The other two books came in movies that played in my mind until I jotted them down on the paper. Some of the scenes were still based on my experiences, some research and others were purely muse.
5. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, what would be your favorite and why?
I would say The Alaskan Heart Saga is my favorite but I can’t choose just one book from it.
6. Tell us something funny about yourself that not a lot of people know about?
I love gooba jelly! I have no idea how to spell it.(Peanut butter and jelly mixed) But I like it on a spoon. Maybe it is from road trips with my parents, maybe it brings back that childish adventure but there is something about Gooba jelly on the spoon that is to die for. J
7. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?
Both. I did have a stalker come after me when I was in Alaska. I did escape an abusive relationship and have to start again. I did experience many of the adventures I write about. But I have never dragged a dead body through the woods. At least that is my story and I am sticking to it.
8. Does your ‘muse’ have a name and if so what is his/her name?
I don’t have a name for her. I know it is a she. At least most of the time. She is beyond a name. I feel a name would put her in a box J My father was a writer. He passed away a few years ago. I sometimes feel that he sent my muse to me from heaven. I hadn’t written in years. My first book came out last October and here it is 7 months later and I have the third book coming out.
9. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?
I write a little of everything. I love poetry because it is a form of baring your soul. I write nonfiction and have a paranormal romance waiting to be written. Friends keep posting these hot pictures of cowboys so maybe I will have to travel west and write me a western romance. I loved apache junction! I would love to do research on a cowboy….I mean…about what it is like to be a cowboy. I loved how they hooked their horses up to the restaurant s, and loved the rodeos and how there was a ghost town across the street from where my brother was staying. There is something magical about horses and it is like going back in time. I loved it. It may be a fun new genre.
10. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?
I love Nicole Kuhn, Rochelle Maya Callen, Cameo Renae, Teresa Treadway, JD Nelson and Kahlen Aymes but there are really way to many amazing authors to only name a few. I am leaving so many out.
11. Who is your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?
Nicole is the main female character in The Alaskan Heart Saga. She goes through so much but always stands back up. For me, that is such an important lesson. I have been through really hard times throughout my life. Often it was hard getting out of bed in the morning because I had no idea what the day was going to bring. But I did anyway. I think what we have to remember is no matter how hard the struggle, it is temporary. We have to be strong, dust ourselves off and learn to stand again.
Male character, I have to say it is a tie between Dylan and Bradley. I joke that if I met one of them again I would definitely consider getting married.
12. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
Auto spell check and marketing. Auto spell check is a nightmare and Self Marketing, I hate tooting my own horn and saying buy my books. But if I don’t people won’t read them. I don’t have a big marketing company behind me so it is by referral only. If you like an indie book please tell others. You may help feed an author lol.
13. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?
Do it because it is something you love, not to make a bunch of money. Be true to yourself. And study your craft.
14. If you hadn’t become a writer, what do you think you would be doing right now?
I wanted to be a pilot. I was in flight school when I found out I was pregnant for my second angel. I think if 9 11 didn’t happen I would have gone back to it once she was old enough. When I was in elementary school my next door neighbor proposed to my babysitter in the sky. I remember it was so sweet how he wrote “Will you marry me Janie” with his plane. It was magic. I love to fly. There is nothing like it. When I was in Alaska I had the best flight instructor. Flying in Alaska is breathtaking! I know I will never be a commercial pilot, there are too many pilots now out of work but I would love to one day own my own multi engine plane.
15. What would be the perfect Romantic getaway?
I think it could be anywhere as long as you are with the right person. One of my most romantic evenings of my life was exploring the streets of San Francisco in search of my favorite band. We got so lost and were on a wild goose chase but I can remember his laugh like it was yesterday. I love sipping hot chocolate, overlooking the mountains, drinking wine as you are kissed by the gentle breeze rolling off the ocean. I love candles and being serenaded in the moonlight and dancing under the stars. But just being with someone you care about and being with them completely in the moment, to be honest that is the most romantic getaway.
Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?

The Impostor, A Love Story Review: “Wow - what an amazing job Tiffany has done. There wasn't a moment that I wasn't engaged with the characters or the plot. The build up of mystery and tension in this suspenseful romantic novel is superbly done. I found myself constantly holding my breath and nervously listening for creaks in the house. There were some beautifully crafted romantic moments that had me swooning for Dylan, and several moments when I shed a tear. Stunning! The novel flowed very well, effectively creating a good balance of suspense, character interaction and the lovely romance. The ending. Oh my! Tiffany, what an ending you have created. I have no idea what to expect for book two, Obsession and Sacrifice, other than I can not wait to read it. And no doubt it will be as wonderful as The Impostor.” -Becky Johnson, Bex and Books

Excellent! - Obsession & Sacrifice is here & it did not disappoint! The second of the trilogy gives you a tiny re-cap of the last chapter from the ‘The Impostor’ & sets the atmosphere ready for the roller-coaster of a read that awaits you! Once again the authors’ descriptive writing connects you right at the heart of the outstanding romance, intrigue, suspense & action. Yet again, Tiffany has written another book that I just couldn’t put down. There are so many different aspects to this book & the author has succeeded in making every chapter progress & flow at an exhilarating pace. Overall it’s a 10/10 from me & I’m here pacing the floor again, ready for the book. –Nichole Walsh

Sneak Peak into a scene of Beciming Invisible, the third book in The Alaskan Heart Saga. By Tiffany carmouche ©2013 This cannot be copied or redistributed in any way without the authors permission.
Dylan allowed Nicole to lean on him as they made their way to the beautiful Gothic style Cathedral in Washington, DC. Her legs were still hurting but she refused to complain about it. He could tell though, the way she favored her right side and the way she bit her lip when she thought he wasn’t looking. They entered the large doorway.
“Wow.” It had been a long time since he had entered a church. Sure he had been there for weddings, but he had never gone to one to just go in. The rows of ridges in the high arch, leading to the ceiling were intertwined in such an artistic way. Huge pillars lined the aisle, leading up to the intricate alter. The architecture impressed him. He looked down the aisle. The sunlight, shining through the stain glass windows, cast colors on the archway above the alter. What a beautiful alter.
He looked over at Nicole. He put his arm around her and burst into a smile.
“What are you thinking” Nicole pried.
“Oh, it’s nothing.”
“What are you thinking, Dylan?” She poked at him.
He pulled her close to him and whispered. “You said yes.”
“You said yes.” He felt a warmth come to his face.
“Are you blushing?”
“You said yes.” It was almost as if he was in shock. It seemed like yesterday he watched the waves on the machine connected to her lifeless body. He had lost her. And then when she woke up from the coma, it was almost hurt worse. She had forgotten who he was.
But, she said yes. He almost couldn’t believe it and he certainly didn’t want to risk her changing her mind. “Wait here.” He ran back outside to a sidewalk vender and pointed to the red roses he had in the bucket. “Let me have a dozen.”
The young man gave the bouquet to him and Dylan ran back inside to Nicole. “You said yes.” He grinned, handing her the flowers. She brought them to her nose.
. “We have an hour before everyone gets here. I want to see you walking down the aisle.”
“Dylan, you are crazy.”
“Look at this place. It is beautiful. Humor me.”
“There are people here. I’m not going to walk down the aisle and pretend I’m getting married.”
“Let me find a priest. Maybe he will do it now. It’ll be perfect. Jess will be the flower girl. Can’t you picture her, walking down here with her basket of rose petals?” He walked over to Nicole. “Close your eyes. Do you see it. She is sprinkling all the petals on the floor.”
He pulled her close, whispering in her ear, “And your mom, your mom is lighting the candle. And look. It is my dad. How did he know we were going to be here? He is lighting the other unity candle. The organ begins the wedding march and your dad wraps his arm in yours.”
“Dylan you are crazy.”
“Shh, shh. Just listen. Da da da da, da daa da da.” He walked forward a few feet and she opened her eyes, shaking her head.
“I will sing louder. Da da da da,”
“Okay, okay I will walk. You’re a nut.”
He ran a few paces ahead of her and took out the cell phone and videoed her walking down the aisle--beet red, trying to hold back the smile that was taking over her face.
He spoke as if narrating the scene. “I see you. My heart stops. I know you will soon be mine. All mine. I swallow, looking at this goddess before me.”
She walked part of the way down the aisle, meeting up with Dylan. He faced her and looked deep into her eyes.
“I, Dylan Richardson, take you Nicole Carlisle, to be my wedded wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, 'till death do us part.”
A crowd of Asian tourist walked by speaking Japanese or something, and broke their moment.
“I’m going to find a priest.”
“Dylan, he isn’t going to just marry us. People wait like a year to be able to get married. And I doubt you can even get married in a church like this.”
“But if I told him we were trying to escape from a serial killer, and I made a big donation…I am sure there is a place around here we can buy you the perfect dress.”
“You’re adorable. You have no clue do you? It takes a little more than an hour to plan a wedding.” She took his hands in hers. “I don’t want to get married in a place like this. Sure it is beautiful, but I see something more intimate. Don’t you? It will be beautiful, my Jessica with a basket of rose petals and Chris can be your best man and I will have Brad be my man of honor. I don’t think he would go for the maid of honor title.” She giggled.
He picked her up and kissed her. “You said yes.” He spun her around.
“You can’t do that here. We’re in a church.”
“Are they going to kick me out for kissing you? That won’t be a first.” He put her down. “I do want to ask you the right way, but I want you to remember…” He leaned in and whispered again, “You said yes, and you can’t change your mind.”
“Dylan Richardson, what am I going to do with you?”
“I can think of a few things, but I really shouldn’t say them in here.”
She smacked his chest, joking around.
“Love me forever. That is all I want. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Nicole.” ©2013 Becoming Invisible
