Book 2 of "The Fitzgerald Brothers" Saga
1. Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?
Hello, thank you for having me here today.
I live on the Island of Anglesey in the U.K. I have two grown up children, Emma my daughter is a teacher and Christopher my son is part of the family commercial business. Part of my busy family life is our two dogs Jimmy and Lucy. I have done many things in my life from Diana nurse, owner of a skin care shop selling organic products. I trained as a hairdresser about a hundred years ago and I still do a little cutting and coloring when the mood takes me.
I used to write in my younger days and then life got in the way and I stopped. I picked up the pen three years ago and was finally signed up by Secret Cravings Publishing last year for my first book Her Passionate protector and then a further contract for four more books The Fitzgerald Brothers. It has been a dream come true and I love what I do. I’m living the dream; now how many people can say they do that J
2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Being a writer doesn’t leave a lot of spare time, but when I do get the chance to partake in other activities I love to do Pilates, visit the gym, cook and read.
3. What is your daily routine as far as when you have an idea for your story?
I go into my office at least 4-6 hours a day. I always have plenty of ideas and I’m never not writing something. I take a week off after I finish one story and then I get onto the next.
4. Where do you get your ideas from?
Ideas are all around me. I have a notebook that I write these into. I could be out shopping, perhaps I might waken in the night or while I’m in the gym.
5. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, what would be your favorite and why?
I should say my first book but actually my really favorite book that I have written is book number three of The Fitzgerald Brothers which isn’t actually out yet it’s due to be published in November . Coming to Terms with Love is a beautiful love story about a woman who tries to come to terms with a disfigurement. Corey Fitzgerald is a big man who was a Navy SEAL but the term ‘gentle giant’ applies to this man and I love him…He is my favorite hero so far.
6. Tell us something funny about yourself that not a lot of people know about?
I love to sing…really loudly; however I’m completely tone deaf!
7. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?
All my own imagination.
8. Does your ‘muse’ have a name and if so what is his/her name?
My inspiration is whatever author I’m reading at the moment.
9. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?
I haven’t really dipped my toes into any other genre…but never say never!
10. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?
There are so many, but actually my favorite for the moment is Liliana Hart.
11. Who is your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?
Cory Fitzgerald from Coming to Terms with Love (out in November) because he’s a gentle giant, caring ,loving and very, very sexy.
Lilly James of the final book in The Fitzgerald Brothers series. She is an inspiration to me .A woman who struggles to come to terms with an incident that happened to her in her teens but through it all she fights to get what she wants.
12. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
The promotions…I find it easier to write the book rather than promote it.
13. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?
Perseverance …never give up!
14. If you hadn’t become a writer, what do you think you would be doing right now?
I love skincare, love finding different ingredients and experimenting so I guess I would do something like Cosmetology.
15. What would be the perfect Romantic getaway?
Somewhere with lots of sun, private beach and house and plenty of moonlight walks.
Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?
Dancing with Temptation
Her trust in men is sorely blighted by past experience.
But when Bronwyn and Jessie meet, the chemistry between them is electrifying. The barriers come up and she refuses to acknowledge any kind of relationship between them.
He can’t understand what’s holding her back.
Jessie is confused by her resistance, yet he knows she is attracted to him. When an old boyfriend turns up determined to hurt her he fights to give their love the chance it deserves.
The warm flush spread across his cheeks as strong desire filled him...he loved how defiant she was with the gaze she returned.
Didn’t she know everything she felt he could see in her eyes; there was a fear behind those silky long eye lashes he couldn’t understand. For a second they stood motionless, her head tipped up to meet his gaze he was being pulled into a sea of green pools, for a moment he couldn’t move.
He wanted to know what she was wearing beneath her skirt, was it stockings and suspenders like the other night.
Hell…what was wrong with him?
He only had to look at her and he was as hard as hell. He hadn’t felt so out of control since his teenage school days. God, he almost groaned aloud at the thought of touching her silky lingerie. She stood in front of him in those same black heels she’d had worn the other night.
Her chest heaved, the outline of her breasts strained against her shirt. The tiny pearl buttons invited undoing and his fingers itched. He drew in a breath inhaling the warm scent of amber infusing his senses almost to distraction.
He fastened the last button of her jacket her hands were gripping her purse, instinctively he covered them with his own feeling the trembling that was beneath her skin.
Oh yes, she was exactly aware of what was going on between them, but why was she trying to deny it?
Why was she frightened…what had happened?
Then she drew back from him, pulling her hands from his she turned to go. “Everyone will be waiting for us.” Her voice was shaking and he knew exactly how she felt. It was not a way he liked feeling because it was uncharacteristically out of his control. He picked up his briefcase and followed her to the elevator where the others waited for them.
He was standing so close to her that he could smell her scent, a sweet evocative aroma that permeated his senses. Despite the longing in her eyes, she had obviously been hurt. He saw the pain before she shut him out.
The chatter between the two friends was light and he listened to the sound of her voice. Was it crazy that he was even turned on by her accent…Jesus what was happening to him?
“How is your house coming along, have the builders started on it?” Jonathon was looking at him and he had to inwardly shake himself out of the emotional stupor to think about what had just been said.
“You know, I’m not sure how far along they are. Corey has been more hands on than me. He’s the one who’s been the architectural genius.”
“Corey is your older brother?”
He nodded, “Yes he’s in the Navy, travels the world and we don’t see him as often as we would like, but I guess that’s the name of the game when you’re in the forces.”
Jonathon nodded. “I thought about the Navy myself once but I don’t think all that traveling around was for me.”
Jessie nodded, “I’m glad because I would have been without a very good attorney.”
The other guy laughed as the elevator reached the ground floor and they all got out.
He instinctively put his hand to her back and he felt her body stiffen but he didn’t remove it.
“Goodnight Jim,” Jessie spoke to the security guard behind the desk.
The older man tipped his hand to the peak of his cap, “Have a good evening Mr. Fitzgerald.
He opened the door for Bronwyn and Dianne to precede him and the two girls walked ahead of them and he somehow felt bereft of her closeness. It was a short distance to the restaurant and the cool air was like a breath of fresh air as he breathed it in and listened to Jonathon talk about the case they were working on. But hell fire how could he concentrate when the best pair of legs he’d ever seen was right there in front of him.
My next series of books I am writing are about three triplet sisters who were separated at birth. Each sister is found by an investigative company run by three gloriously sexy men. They are kind, caring but oh so naughty!!
