1. Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?
Well, currently I live in Michigan, but that will be changing in a few weeks J I will announce later the new state I move too. I’m a mother of a beautiful daughter and I’m also a wife. I love being around family and friends. I think laughter is good for everyone and good food!
2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time, I like to read, bake all sorts of sweets, and just recently I’ve gotten into yoga! I also love spending time with my family, especially my sisters we all like to joke and it makes for interesting gatherings.
3. Where do you get your ideas from?
I get my ideas from all over the place, sometimes in comes from readers, watching a movie, hearing a song, or even people watching. Lol Yes, I people watch and get awesome ideas!
4. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, which would be your favorite and why?
See that’s a hard question, it’s like asking a mother to pick her favorite child. I mean you love them all equally., but if I have to choose, it will be my WIP and that’s Redemption the final and third book in The Secrets of the Ghosts Trilogy! I love Holiday and her sisters and this book right now is pulling at my heart in so many ways.
5. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?
In every book I write there is always something in there that is based on a real life experience. I may put a small twist on it, but it’s always at least one thing in each book!
6. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?
I’m a huge fan of sci-fi and that would be the genre that I hope to have enough skill to write one day. The authors that do and can do it well, my hat goes off to them.
7. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?
I have a ton of favorite authors and if I start naming them I’m sure to forget someone. lol
8. Who are your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?
Oh this is a good question! Lol It’s hard too. Gemi and Draken are my favorite characters so far, dang but I love Joe along with David. The Showken is pretty awesome, but Layern is sexy!
9. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
Sharing your work with readers is pretty hard. You have to open yourself up to so many different thoughts on your work, some good and some not so good. Of course, there is the main issue of getting your book in front of readers, that’s always a task as well.
10. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?
I would say, don’t quit. That it will get hard, you will have writers block, readers might not like what you write, you may run out of ideas and the list goes on , but DON”T QUIT!
Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?
Well, my latest release is the 4th book in The Draglen Series- GEMI. It’s about the brother that falls for someone that is forbidden, but he seeks her out any way! There are twists and turns in this story, Gemi is the hopeless romantic with a bad boy side! I think readers will love him, I hope!
Here is his blurb
Gemi Draglen has been searching for the woman that is destined to become his Wella for hundreds of years. One eventful night while visiting the city of New Orleans, he unexpectedly sees the woman he wants to be his forever. Unfortunately, he has two very serious problems. First, the woman to become his Wella is a witch, an age old enemy to all dragons. Second and most importantly, she has no idea who Gemi truly is and he must convince her they belong together, forever. Shalisi Narmon is no ordinary young lady. Shalisi is a witch from generations of witches and has known since birth that she is to have the most important role of all her sister witches. She has always accepted her destiny of becoming the Passer. At least that's what she has always believed until Gemi Draglen suddenly enters her life. She has never experienced love and could never love a dragon, an enemy to witches. It seems Gemi is not so easily deterred and is determined to win her affection and show her the joy that true love can give. Will Shalisi choose her sisters or the love of her life?
Here is an excerpt
After walking for ten minutes she realizes how stupid it was to walk. Night has rolled in and so she decides to do a quick spell to hide herself from any predators. She knows that dragons are not the only paranormal creatures the in the city. As she arrives home and walks up to the porch, a sense of danger engulfs her. Turning quickly, she looks around in the woods and then speaks.
“Whoever you are, I’m tired and hungry. If you come on my porch, the consequences will leave you wishing you never tried to hurt me.” The words are barely audible. Any real danger would be able to hear her a great distance away.
As she unlocks her door she says a spell to protect her home from intruders. When she walks into her house and puts down her purse, she realizes the presence is within her own home.
“No, it’s not possible,” Shalisi whispers.
“Yes, it is.”
Clearly she may not be ready for the ceremony if she couldn’t feel a dragon in her house.
“You have to leave now!” she yells.
“I can’t for two reasons.”
“Who gives a fuck about your reasons? Not only will my coven hurt you badly if they find you here, but my life will be in danger too.”
“My brother is who you sensed outside.”
“What?” Her breathing is rapid from fear, but not of Gemi. If the elders knew he was in her house, there would be nothing she could say, but ask for her last meal.
“The danger you sensed, it was my brother Warton. He’s gone for now.”
“Why was he trying to make me afraid and why are you here?”
“Thank you for not telling me to leave again. I came to see you, to make sure you didn’t get into too much trouble because of our encounter earlier.”
“You don’t need to worry about me. You should be concerned with yourself.”
“Can we talk?”
“No, leave now!”
Sighing Gemi walks over to her small sofa and takes a seat. He looks up at her with that same desire he showed earlier in the store. “I’m not leaving, yet. I just would like to speak with you.”
“I’m not like what they have told you about dragon-shifters.”
“I saw with my own eyes what you dragons are, remember? I had to save Paul from all of you.” She glares.
“I’m not here to discuss my brother, Shalisi. Please come sit with me. I’ll leave soon.”
Though she knows he should leave, those hot steamy dreams start flooding her brain. His lips, eyes, and those hands....Oh, how she wants his hands on her body. She should tell him to leave again, to stop trying to see her, but she can’t. In fact, she doesn’t want him to stop. She walks to stand across from him, about five feet away, giving her space and time to get her emotions under control.
“What do you have to say?”
Gemi stands and walks towards her. Shalisi freezes in place. Not even her mouth opens to speak. She is too consumed with his sexy walk, the calmness he displays, and the desire she sees in his eyes. He draws close to her and places his hands on her hips.
She gasps in shock at his touch, the warmth of his hands as they glide around her waist where he lets them rest gently on the tail bone of her back.
“I know you think this is wrong, that we can’t do this, but I just don’t want you…I need you.” Gemi leans his head down into her neck and takes a deep breath. All the while, Shalisi remains still. “You are so beautiful. Your scent is my weakness and your words are my undoing.”
Shalisi's body reacts to his words and her panties are so soaked it’s like she sat in a bowl of water. Everything in her body is aware of Gemi and she likes it. It’s better than her dreams.
“I’m going to go, but I will have you, and anyone that gets in my way, I’ll remove them,” Gemi says with a low growl.
He leans forward and very slowly places a soft kiss on her cheek. Shalisi closes her eyes and enjoys the softness of his lips. She still has not spoken and her mind races thinking what she should be being doing, like pushing him away. Instead she says nothing as he walks out her door into the darkness.
“What the hell am I doing?”
