Let's check it out!
1. Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?
I live in rural England, United Kingdom and I work in an antiques shop as well as writing. I have two dogs that keep me fit with their need for walks. Love the countryside and the coast.
I write romance, contemporary, and erotic with a twist of mystery, suspense, or the paranormal, now and then. I like to make the story unusual in some way, by a quirk in the tale.
I started writing when I was seventeen. Life intervened in my writing time and I stopped serious writing for some time. I started writing again seriously a couple of years ago, because I had so many stories in my head.
2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love movies, reading, going off into the countryside, although I don’t have that much spare time (smiles).
3. What is your daily routine as far as when you have an idea for your story?
I have no routine. An idea will drop into my head and then the very next time I can I start to write and it generally appears on the computer screen. LOL
4. Where do you get your ideas from?
People and emotions inspire me to write. The complexity of life spurs me to write. I see emotions in people around me all the time, and often they remain unspoken. I think we don’t share ourselves enough, and are encouraged to hide our true selves. People and their situations inspire me. Meeting people and watching them battle with the love or lack of it in their lives.
Lots of my characters have some foundation from real people who have passed through my life. They are composites of those glimpses of people and my imagination.
I find the world harsh. There’s not enough love in it. Lots of people never find love. I write contemporary love stories with happy endings to spread a little lightness around. I always have graphic love scenes in the close to real life stories, because I like to show the reader how the characters feel about each other deep down. The way they make love always shows their hopes and feelings.
I hope that my books do give the reader a lift and a sense of love.
5. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, what would be your favorite and why?
That’s so hard to answer, but I think right now it’s my last manuscript, The Winter Girl. I just love the concept and the leading male.
6. Tell us something funny about yourself that not a lot of people know about?
I’m a tech junkie, own about five computers….see I don’t know the exact number.. plus tablets, smartphones….
7. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?
No, they all have a seed from real life and that doesn’t have to be a person it is sometimes a place.
8. Does your ‘muse’ have a name and if so what is his/her name?
No I don’t have a muse.
9. What other genre besides the one you are writing in now would you like to venture into writing?
Actually none. I write contemporary erotic romance and they always have a twist of something, paranormal, mystery, fantasy, each book has a little twist.
10. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?
I read so much I don’t like pick a favorite. I read lots of different genres too. I know this will sound weird, but right now I’m reading ‘New Hart’s Rules’ LOL yes all the way through…
11. Who is your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?
I find it very hard to pick favorites because I love them all and when I have finished writing a book I really miss my characters.
12. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
Marketing without a doubt.
13. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?
Write from the heart. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Be prepared for the hard slog as well as the lovely parts.
14. If you hadn’t become a writer, what do you think you would be doing right now?
A graphic artist.
15. What would be the perfect Romantic getaway?
Driving across a beautiful county in a great Jeep with a gorgeous guy.
Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?
The idea for it just dropped into my head the way most of my story ideas do. Although a couple of years ago when I went over to Australia for a holiday, I met this film producer at an Arts festival. She was really nice and told me lots of stuff. She was filming a little indie movie and invited me on set for the day just to see how unglamorous the whole thing is in real life and how there are all kinds of funny stuff happens :-) Naturally my book doesn't really feature her but she does make one appearance.
Bethany Snow is a private detective and works for the Black Agency. Seth Carbery is a movie star. They are both about 24/25 years old. Both of them are looking or hoping for love in their lives and busy with their work. They meet and sparks fly.
Actor Seth Carbery swears he will never fall in love again, that is until he meets private detective Bethany Snow.
Something strange is going on. Seth and other members of the movie cast and crew are receiving threatening letters, but no threat has ever been carried out... yet. Bethany Snow is sent on location by the Black Agency to investigate, and guard Seth Carbery against danger.
The case is not what it first seems and even when Bethany thinks it could be over, a new twist means she becomes a target.
Seth and Bethany find they can’t keep their hands off each other.
Who is sending the letters and why? Does Seth have a secret admirer or stalker?
With steamy romance, graphic love scenes, and a quirky story of what people do for love this erotic romance is for adults only.
She looked up into his eyes.
“We have webcams up and the program we use can be set to watch nighttime activity,” she said softly.
Seth’s eyes darkened at her and his gaze was dreamy.
“You’re kidding, what if a cat walked by?” He moved slightly closer to her as they stood by the table.
“Oh the heat signature wouldn’t register enough to set the alarm off,” she answered, and she leaned slightly towards him.
Seth looked a little amused. “So I can’t go anywhere at night without you bursting out of your trailer? You do know I work far into the night sometimes?”
He was very close to her now. “We wouldn’t have that part of the program set at those times. I can explain everything to you some other time. Right now, it’s very late, and you have to be on set tomorrow. I’d better go.”
Seth didn’t want her to go. He was desperate to kiss her. He looked into her blue eyes, and then at her lovely mouth and creamy skin with its sprinkle of freckles. He reached out a hand and gently held her face. He watched her face for signs of rejection. There was only welcome. “It’s already tomorrow,” he said, and he kissed her.
