1. Before we start talking about your book, why don’t you tell everybody a little bit about yourself?
I used to be an engineering secretary but gave it up to become a mother of two boys, wife to a cowboy, and writer of erotic fantasy romance. We live on a small ranch along the California central coast where you’ll find horses, sheep, and border collies. I’m a pretty darn good shot, have been known to throw a lasso, and love wearing my FMPs whenever we hit the town.
2. Besides writing, what other things do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
If I’m not writing, you can usually find me working. Between the livestock and housework, my chores are never done. On the odd occasion when we fly our middle finger at all responsibility, I enjoy waterskiing, horseback riding, and poking at critters in the tide pools.
3. What is your daily routine as far as when you have an idea for your story?
My morning starts at 6AM. When school’s in session, it’s the hustle game to get the boys breakfast and then drive them into town for school. When I return, I try to get a couple miles in each day on my treadmill, lift weights, feed the livestock, and then grab some breakfast myself. By now it’s around 10AM and I’ll write until 3PM when I reverse gears and pick-up the boys and crack the whip for homework. Somewhere in the day, I try to work in my husband’s home office. He’s a licensed landscape contractor.
4. Where do you get your ideas from?
A bottle of Sapphire gin and a liter of tonic. LOL
5. Out of all of the stories you’ve written so far, what would be your favorite and why?
When I first started writing, I didn’t know what I wanted to write. I had written a time-travel western romance that I loved researching and creating characters for. Maybe that’s my favorite because it was my first. One day I’ll dust it off and work on it.
6. Tell us something funny about yourself that not a lot of people know about?
My ears are pierced, but I have two holes in one and only one in the other. Why? Because it hurt like hell to have the second hole and I refused to do the other lobe.
7. Does any of the stories you’ve written based on real life experiences or basically just from imagination?
Two of my characters are loosely based on people I’ve known. Rhycious from Remedy Maker constantly fights with his PTSD syndrome. I met a guy—sweet as can be—who also suffered. He was afraid to have a relationship with a woman because he accidently hurt a girl when she woke him up one night.
Ella from Troll-y Yours is based on a friend of mine. Her upbringing was harsh, derogatory, and filled with self-loathing. When she met her husband, he erased all that negative thinking. She is, and always has been, beautiful inside and out.
8. Does your ‘muse’ have a name and if so what is his/her name?
She has all sorts of names when I can’t find her.
9. What other genre besides the one you are writing about now would you like to venture into writing?
I have that time-travel that I’d like to one day cleanup and publish. Twisted fairytales have always interested me, too.
10. Who are your favorite authors that are out now?
Some of the bigger named authors are JR Ward, Jacquelyn Frank, and Tara Janzen. And there are numerous authors like Brenda Dyer, D’Ann Linscott-Dunham, Leanore Elliott, Jamallah Bergman, DX Luc…oh I could go on and on. I’ve fallen for so many new authors lately, my Kindle is busting at the seams!!
11. Who is your favorite female and male characters from your books and why?
Favorite Female: Usually the one I’m writing. But I’ll say Pennelope the Troll. She’s such a versatile character.
Favorite Male: Is it okay to fall in love with your leading man? Having just finished Troll-y Yours, I’m still head-over-heels for Kempor Aleksandser.
12. What do you think is the hardest thing about being a writer?
If I could break that down further, I’d say the hardest thing about being a writer when you work two jobs fulltime and have kids at home would be finding your zone after all the different hats you’ve worn during the day. If you’re lucky enough to completely immerse yourself into the story, having reality respect your time and space to get the work done is very hard.
13. What advice would you give someone who wants to start off being a writer?
Learn the craft! It’s more than applying words to a page. If you don’t want to cry later, prepare yourself in advance.
14. If you hadn’t become a writer, what do you think you would be doing right now?
I’d have a stunning figure and a full social calendar. LOL
15. What would be the perfect Romantic getaway?
Laying with my husband in a hammock in the shade on some tropical island while the kids play (without fighting) in the water. We’d have a bucket of cold beer, no annoying vendors trying to sell me woven grass hats, and a week of nothing to do but work on our tans. Oh yeah…no electronics!
Well now that we got the question and answer out of the way…..why don’t you tell us about your latest story you have out now?
Actually, I had two books released last month within a couple weeks of each other: Troll-y Yours, a BBW erotic fantasy romance; and Portals of Oz, an erotic fantasy novella.
I’ll tell you about Troll-y Yours, Book 2 of my Centaur series. The story is about Kempor Aleksander, Head Centaur Guard for the Centaur palace. Originally introduced in Remedy Maker, Alek is suave, good looking, and boy does he know it! But his best friend has married and settled down and he’s secretly jealous that Rhycious found someone to love. Tired of the same routine of bedding women he has no feelings for, he years for something more.
Enter the heroine, Ella the Troll. She’s tired of living under her parents’ roof and wants to make a life for herself away from their nasty remarks about her weight and lifestyle. In their eyes, her brother can do no wrong, and it’s impossible for Ella to do anything right. She opens a speed dating business, one that caters to the mythic people, and calls it Troll-y Yours.
When Aleksander meets Ella, the sparks fly and love takes flight. But there’s a spy within the Centaur palace who is feeding information to the rebels that are attempting a coup. When reports come in with a description that matches Ella, their world begins to crumbling and Aleksander must uncover the truth.
SHE TAKES A CHANCE.
Determined to forge a better life, Ella launches her new business with high hopes—until a sexy Centaur bumps into her and throws her life off course. Voted “Most Eligible Bachelor in Boronda”, Aleksander shakes up her world and tilts her in more ways than one.
HE’S IN DANGEROUS TERRITORY.
Years of warfare and countless bedroom encounters have stolen Kempor Aleksander’s luster for life. He never expects to rediscover his zeal in the small, redheaded form of Ella the Troll, who fires his blood hotter than the deepest caverns in the forest.
A PASSION SO HOT.
But as trouble lingers in their midst—and edges ever closer—Alek and Ella spiral into troubled terrain. Turning to each other, the pair face down dangers that run impenetrably deep in their mythological world. But will the two lovers discover a passion that runs even deeper?
Gods. So wet, so ready. How was he supposed to hold back?
Ella moaned, parted her thighs to his touch, and he easily found her hot nub with the pad of his thumb. As he sucked deeply on her taut nipple, his thumb brushed back and forth against the tiny bundle of nerves, drawing the little whimpers of pleasure that turned him on even more.
Alek lifted his head to sweep his lips against hers, gently licking them, teasing the corners, nibbling on her full lower one. Her lips lured him with their sensuous swell, and he learned he loved to kiss and taste them. Nip at them.
Lose hours just making love to her mouth.
Ella opened her mouth then, and he pounced on the perfect moment by slipping his tongue to find the hot slickness inside. The hesitant touch of her tongue against his, sent arrows of fire rocking through him. The strike went straight to his throbbing cock and aching balls.
Whoa, buddy. Slow down. He only had one opportunity to show how much he wanted her. How he felt about her—royal duties be damned.
Their tongues danced, slowly at first, and then darting back and forth while his thumb continued to work her clit in an unhurried motion. Ella moaned again, the tight sound echoing into his mouth. Her hands pulled at his back, straining her body closer to his.
When she bent her legs and dropped her thighs wide open, he accepted her silent invitation to explore farther. He moved his hand until he slid two fingers into the hot well of her center.
Holy Bacchus. Hot, hot, hot!
So very wet. The tight walls of her sex were slippery with her juices, her flesh pulsing around his fingers.
Aleksander tore his mouth away from her.
“Ella.” His voice was hoarse and he hardly recognized it. “I can’t wait any longer.”
“Then don’t,” she urged. “I want you inside me. I want you now.”
“You don’t need to tell me twice.” Meat Wrench jumped with joy.
Alek levered himself to his knees, ready for action. However, the sight of her damp, welcoming pink center was so tempting, so mouth-watering, that first he had to have a taste. Lowering his head, he used his thumbs to spread her labia wide, then lapped the length of her slit and let his goatee tickle her clit.
“For the love of Bacchus!” Ella’s desperate keen of pleasure sent another surge of heat through him. And he loved those sounds.
Thus, he did it again…and again, not sure who he teased most. Licking the honey-tart taste from his lips, Aleksander moved into position, notching himself at her opening. With one firm roll of his hips, he entered her scorching, wet heat.
Oh, gods of mythic pleasure!
Always on the hunt for the uncommon things in life, author Sheri Fredricks thrives on creating adventures in her mythological kingdom for her readers.
A former engineering secretary, Sheri lives on the beautiful central coast of California. "I wanted to move away from inflexible right angles and create an unboxed world with no boundaries." A voracious reader since her early years, Sheri found her brain crowded with stories and characters of her own. "Ultimately," she says, "my husband encouraged me to write them all down."
Sheri loves to spend time at home. A computer hutch keeps her focused on creating stories, but the panoramic view of life on a ranch will call her outside to play in the sun.
