Before I even start to write what I plan on writing, I want you all to know that I am writing this because even though many people will not speak out. I have the tendency to speak my mind when it needs to be said and as of late,
So if you take anything I say on here to heart, I first and foremost apologize that you might find it disheartening but once you read this entry through, then you will completely understand why I decided to write it.
*********************************************************************************
Normally I am online on Facebook, either talking with my friends........
Or posting my funny pictures, videos or quotes that I find from time to time.....
Even posting about books that are either free on both my regular and author pages.....
But as of late, I had been so busy with edits and writing that The only thing I've been able to do is pop on to say my hello's in the morning....might get the chance to chat with someone for a minute before heading off to do my work.
The other night however when I came on to see what was going on, I had got some disappointing news across my feed.
A fellow author of mine had a group that was a place for her fans and readers to come and enjoy conversation, make friends, enjoy a joke here and there and look at pictures of very sexy men. Also this group was a group to showcase not only her books but other author's books that were soon to be released..
I had popped into the group every now and then and I saw this first hand and everyone enjoyed the company of their fellow readers, which in all honesty is what a group such as this should be about.
Well like all good things nowadays, someone is always out there to ruin everyone else's fun by screwing things up.
It seems someone (who of course there is no telling who the person is) decided upon themselves to notify Facebook saying that offensive content was being posted within the group.
Thanks to this person who knew that this group was well liked by many who enjoyed the company of everyone that was in it, the page had to be taken down.
This bit of news broke a lot of people's hearts because these group of women that had gotten together had really became more like a family and enjoyed the daily things that went on in the group.
Plenty were upset and angry and in all honesty they had every single right to be angry as hell to disband something that everyone looked forward to on a daily basis.

I've seen this happen too many times to count on certain groups that authors have set up to not only gather people together but also to showcase their new releases or to just have people come and support them.
And lately it seems to have gotten worse......
I really can't seem to understand as to WHY people seem to hate it when others are doing so well because this is the case of why this had happened.
We as authors should be HELPING each other and NOT WORKING AGAINST ONE ANOTHER!!!!!!!!
I know that when I see a author friend of mine doing well, I let them know that I'm happy for them because I am. I want to see all of my friends, whether they are an author or a model or whatever work they do in life, I want them to succeed.
But it seems that people just can't stand to see others do better than them and of course they have to squish their self esteem by trying to knock it down a peg or two.
Either by giving bad reviews or making others post bad reviews on their books.....
Sending messages to down them about their work.....telling them how it was not that good.
All this balls down to is BULLYING and JEALOUSY plain and simple.
People......I thought we were adults here?
The last time I checked.....I was 41......not 13, which is my shoe size by the way (yeah....I have big feet....of course because I'm a big girl you know, lol)
People need to really stop acting like their shoe sizes and start acting more like their real ages.
But that's easier said than done right?
We as authors have to bite our tongue when it comes to criticism from readers especially when they make comments about our books>
These are some of the complaints that most of us get (in no particular order)
1. The story was too short
2. The editing was messed up
3. The price was too high
4. The story made no sense whatsoever
5. Didn't like the way one character was depicted in the story
And of course when we get these complaints and stuff, it's like the person is just waiting for the author they gave the comment to to fire back with a bad comment or rant so that way they can bring it up to others so that others will know how they think the author really is.
So we have to sit back and take the comments.....we have to take the abuse (and yeah I consider it a form of abuse) and we have to bite our tongue and just move on. Even though deep down you wonder to yourself......
Why am I doing all this?
And it does hurt............believe me for I've gotten plenty of bad reviews from people who have read my work and they've said some pretty hurtful things that has often made me rethink about why I became a author in the first place if I am going to be getting such awful comments.

I'm going to end this blog entry today by saying the following........
If you become a author, please prepare yourself for backlash from not only readers but also from other authors as well....ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE DOING GOOD AND BECOME POPULAR!
You will find out who your friends are and who your enemies are as well because the green eyed devil will perk up his/her head and end up showing their true colors.
If you are involved in a group on Facebook and you don't like the content that is posted within the group, JUST LEAVE.....that's it......that's all you have to do is just LEAVE the group and move onto something else. Either that or tell the person who is over the page what was posted so that way they can handle the situation.
I know that I will probably get some backlash for the comments that I've made but in all honesty this is my blog.....and these are things that most of my friends have talked about and we've had deep discussions on this particular topic. The other night when I saw what my friend was dealing with and how she had to take down a page that she had made for her fans, it really struck a nerve with me and it really pissed me off and I really thought that a entry was well needed to be posted.
And to whom ever the person that ended up screwing up my friend and her page, I hope that you are very happy with yourself.
You did your job.....you got away with making others upset and angry at you for doing something that in all honesty could have been prevented if you had gone about it the right way instead of going behind people's back. Now you've hurt someone who really and truly didn't deserve to be hurt the way that they did.
No harm was done unto you so why would you want to hurt someone like that really and truly never deserved what you did to them in the first place?
Karma has a way of sitting back and waiting for the right time to strike and she will eventually strike the person who ended up doing this.
I really feel sorry for you.......whoever you may be.
