The reason for the picture of the extremely handsome man over on my left is because I've had some good as well as bad news happen last week.
My release party on Friday for "Special Kind of Woman" was a complete success. I had a lot of people show up for the party and gave away plenty of swag. Plus before I had went to bed that night, it had went up to #6 for Interracial on the Secret Cravings Publishing website.....as of now it is #1 for Interracial and is #4 on the best sellers list. As far as the bad news and the reason why I have the pic of the extremely handsome man on this entry! Ruben Riguero-Brito aka Angelo, a personal trainer, cover model, dancer and friend was killed yesterday September 30th. I was completely unnerved yesterday morning when I had heard he had passed away because Angelo was a beautiful human being inside as well as out. His smile was infectious and honestly you couldn't help yourself but to smile even when you only saw his picture. I met Angelo by way of another author friend of mine Taabia Dupree and immediately I was like WOW what a handsome looking young man he was. I eventually went to friend him after a while because once my muse starts tapping at my head to write something, I immediately go for it and I went back into my files and pulled up a story that I had only gotten to about 8 pages into it before I put it on hold. But once I saw Angelo, the words and ideas for the storyline came flowing right through me and before I had even finished it I had to see if I could get a picture of him to grace my cover because honestly I had written the story with him completely in mind for it. But there was a problem with this, since the fact that he was already with another publishing company and the fact that he was a dancer in a club, the picture that I had wanted to use for the cover, I couldn't use because they were copyrighted by the company's he was with. Regardless I pressed on with my writing this story and finally I came to the end of it and was happy with what I had accomplished. After going over it and then submitting it to my publisher, I was told that I would have to redo somethings on it so I had to once again put it on the back burner for a bit while running through my other edits at the time. Well as of yesterday, I've been going through this story which I have entitled "The Admission" and I plan on dedicating it to him since my hero in this book is so like him in many ways. Thoughtful, sweet, kind and helpful. All the things that made Angelo so lovable. R.I.P Ruben Riguero-Brito November 1, 1985- Sept
